Log Jam chinking takes three weeks to cure completely and is tack free in less than 30 minutes at 70° F, 50% relative humidity.
Yes! While Log Jam chinking is available in several stock colors, it is also completely paintable with latex coatings after a minimum of 24 hours of curing and after five days with most oil-based coatings. Log home stains can also be applied to Sashco log chinking with no problems.
Like most log home chinking, Log Jam elastic chinking, on average, lasts around 20 years if applied correctly. Log Jam chinking can last up to 40 years if maintained annually and not exposed to extreme weather conditions.
