PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Log-Gevity Log Chinking has been
engineered to be compatible with all of
the Log-Gevity Log Home Care
Finishes. Its special formula provides
outstanding elasticity allowing log
movement without losing its strong
bonding characteristics. Log-Gevity Log
Chinking is textured to produce a
realistic, sand-like chinking material and
is available in many Log-Gevity coordinating colors.
Precautions: Read the entire material
safety data sheet and product label for a
more thorough evaluation of hazards.
Fully protect all adjacent surfaces as well
as general work area.
GENERAL DIRECTIONS
A test sample should be performed
before beginning overall project to
determine product compatibility and
moisture content in logs. A 20 day
adhesion test on a one-foot joint is
recommended.
Surface Temperature: Should be between
40 degrees F. and 90 degrees F. when
applying this product.
- Thoroughly read the Log-Gevity
Chinking product specification sheet
prior to applying this product.
- Start with clean, restored, non-green or
weathered logs that have been treated
with Log-Gevity Log Stain &
Stabilizer. (See product specification
sheet for instructions.)
- For Tubes: Cut application tip on an
angle. Puncture foil inside.
- Apply chinking to clean, dry surfaces.
- Use Log-Gevity Chinking GLIDE to
make tooling smooth and easy. It also
eliminates water runs and creates less
mess.
Note: This product can be tooled with a
trowel or sponge brush. Chinking should
be tooled tightly to keep contact between
1/4 and 1/2 of the log surface.

Packaging: 13 oz. tube, 36 oz. tube and
gallon container.
HELPFUL PRODUCT GUIDELINES
Apply over clean, dry surfaces.
Surfaces should be free of oil, dirt or
other foreign materials.
Remove all weathered and deteriorated
wood fiber to assure a sound bond to the
substrate.
Cleans up with soap and water.
In severe conditions (under 50 degrees
F. and/or over 70% humidity) full
resistance to rain may take longer.
Cover exterior walls with plastic.
CLEAN UP: Use mineral spirits or dish
detergent and water. Should Log-Gevity
Log Chinking come in contact with
surfaces such as glass, paint, metal,
caulking or rubber, remove immediately
with dish detergent. If a spill is dry, clean
it with mineral spirits.
STORAGE: Keep tube or container
closed when not in use. Store in cool
place. This product should be kept out
of reach of children and stored away
from food.
DISPOSAL: Do not reuse empty
container or tube. Wrap container and
place in trash. Leaking or damaged
containers should be placed in a plastic
bag and discarded. Contact local, state,
or federal agencies to ensure compliance
of proper disposal methods and
respective regulations.
