PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Log-Gevity Bio-Strip, designed for
exterior use, is a multi-purpose stripper,
cleaner, refinisher and more. It is
formulated to remove a wide variety of
coatings from many types of substrates.
This product is unique because it is
biodegradable, non-flammable, nonacidic,
contains no methylene chloride
and does not require neutralizing.
Log-Gevity Bio-Strip Gel dwells
longer providing deeper penetration on
multiple layers of paint.
Precautions: Read the entire material
safety data sheet and product label for a
more thorough evaluation of hazards.
Fully protect all adjacent surfaces, as
well as floor and general work area,
from coming into direct contact with
Log-Gevity Bio-Strip.
Caution: On glass surfaces, all Log-
Gevity Bio-Strip overspray and/or
residue from the stripping process
must be immediately removed to
avoid adherence to the glass surface.
TECHNICAL DATA
Color/Form: Reddish-brown gel.
Coverage: Bio StripTM Gel: 50-100 sq.
ft. per gallon, depending on layers of
paint to strip.
Packaging: One and five gallon
containers.
PROPER SURFACE PREPARATION
Prepare a surface free from dirt and oil.
It is not necessary to remove loose,
peeling or flaking paint. This creates
pockets down to the surface which is
generally more absorbing than the
painted surface.
A test area should be performed prior to
beginning overall project to determine
optimum dwell time for the product to
completely penetrate all layers of the
finish.
User shall determine the suitability of
the product for its intended use and
assumes all risk and liability whatsoever
in connection therewith. Follow all local,
state, or federal disposal regulations
when using the product.
GENERAL DIRECTIONS
- Using a brush, roller, low pressure
(HVLP) sprayer or airless paint
sprayer, apply a thick coat of Log-
Gevity Bio-Strip to surface.
Caution: Log-Gevity Bio-Strip is
slippery when applied to surface.
Use extreme caution when working
on horizontal surfaces.
- Allow Log-Gevity Bio-Strip to
remain on the surface until finish has
dissolved. To prevent premature
rinsing, wait for the entire surface
to become uniformly darkened. This
darkened appearance indicates that
the Log-Gevity Bio-Strip has
dissolved the underlying finish and is
ready to be rinsed.
- Reapply Log-Gevity Bio-Strip if
necessary.
REMOVAL
- If possible, scrape all dissolved
residue and discard in an appropriate
container.
Note: If logs/wood become discolored,
leave a solution of Log-Gevity New
Log Prep on the discolored area and
allow to dry. Acrystallized residue will
appear when the Log-Gevity New
Log Prep dries. Lightly remove
crystals from surface without
destroying the brightening action of
the Log-Gevity New Log Prep with
a very light water rinse.
- Certain types of log/wood surfaces
may have raised grain after stripping
is completed. Sanding may be
necessary. Sand when surface is dry
or brush with stiff bristle brush while
surface is wet to smooth out this
condition.
CLEAN UP: water flush equipment,
shrubbery, sidewalks, blacktop, asphalt,
and other adjacent surfaces immediately
upon contact. Leave job site free of any
trace amounts of Log-Gevity Bio-Strip
or dissolved residue. Never leave
behind any containers or equipment.
Label appropriate containers of residue
for disposal.
